Rooted began with a simple belief: healthy living doesn’t have to be complicated. I wanted to create the kind of guide I wish everyone had—one that encourages instead of overwhelms, simplifies instead of confuses, and welcomes you with grace instead of judgment. This is not about perfection or rigid rules. It’s about taking one nourishing step at a time and discovering the joy of caring for yourself. It’s an honor to be part of your journey, I can’t wait to see where it leads. ♡My StoryBefore Rooted became a book, it was my own journey.Several years ago, my health took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition. Like so many people searching for answers, I found myself overwhelmed by conflicting advice. Every article seemed to contradict the last, and everyone claimed to have the “right” way to eat.As I began learning more about nutrition, I chose to transition to a whole-food, plant-based lifestyle. Over time, I experienced meaningful improvements in my own health. My lab work improved, my immune system became much healthier, and I simply felt better than I had in years.While everyone’s journey is different, that experience changed the way I viewed food—not as a source of fear or confusion, but as one of the many ways we can support our overall health and well-being.As I continued learning, I noticed something that surprised me.Much of the nutrition information online felt driven by extremes. Some voices dismissed plant-based eating altogether, while others overlooked important topics like vitamin B12 or presented nutrition through the lens of winning an argument instead of helping people thrive.I didn’t want to create another book that added to the noise.I wanted to create the guide I wish I’d had from the beginning: one that simplifies the science, includes the important details, presents balanced, evidence-informed information, and helps people feel confident instead of overwhelmed.Rooted isn’t about perfection or rigid rules.
